When we are physically born we are not spiritually alive as we need to be; Jesus said we must be born again, He explained, “Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit”. No matter what you believe about the time we live in or even what is to come, there is nothing more essential than personally accepting Jesus for who He is and what He has done for you. This is true for every person regardless of background, religion, location, or time in which they live. The Bible tells us, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Jesus Himself also said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” To do this you must, “Declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, then you will be saved.”
It is traditionally and institutionally taught that this is the end of the matter… but not by Jesus. Speaking of His last days followers He said,
“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.” It is necessary to hang on to your faith in Christ, to the end, to be saved. The alternative for believers is to “fall away from the faith”, as Jesus says many will do at that time.
Giving birth to our spirit by belief in Jesus is the first step of reaching our goal. Persevering in that faith to the very end, accomplishes it. The hard part is everything in between. Preparation is going to be necessary.
