Spiritual Survival

"The one who stands firm to the end will be saved."

Are You A Warrior?

No matter what is going on in the world when things are difficult, there is always a more significant spiritual battle that is taking place at the same time. 2,000 years ago, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” This has been true from the beginning of time and is only going to escalate at the end.

The Bible tells us at that time the devil will be “filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” As bad as the works of the enemy and his minions have been for 6,000 years, we have never yet had to face his desperation, knowing his end is so near. We are told he will even give his power, throne, and great authority to his human counterpart, the beast, or antichrist. Along with the false prophet, these three are going to bring as much hell as they can to God’s people on Earth.

Understanding that Jesus is our provision for every need will immensely help our preparation for spiritual warfare. For sin, He offers forgiveness; for lies and deception, He offers truth; for illness and disease, healing; to right wrongs, power; for inspiration and comfort, revelation; and for enemy attacks, authority!

I have been fighting our enemy face to face on behalf of God’s people for more than two decades. One of the most frustrating things is the number of preachers who still teach Christians can’t have demons within. Parents will often tell their young children “little white lies” to abate their fears; Its fast, its easy, and in some cases, may be appropriate. However, how responsible would it be for those parents to believe their lies for themselves? You now have a very dangerous situation where the adults are not prepared, or even watching for, very real threats. The church today is at least this bad. Denying the reality of personal enemy attack against the body of Christ may be comforting, but in fact, the truth is more comforting when understood and believed!

The truth is, Jesus has won the victory over our enemy and He gives us His victory to defeat them. Praise God! However, you CANNOT win a fight, much less a war, unless you first admit you are in one! If you have the advantage of the victory already won and handed to you to use against your enemy, the fight is nothing to fear.

If you have been taught you cannot be personally attacked within by the enemy because you have the Holy Spirit within, this is not true. There is solid Biblical teaching that deliverance is intended for the Christian. See the attack for what it is and finally defeat the enemy instead of denying his presence. It is time to pick up your sword and prepare for war! Once you get in the habit of doing this for yourself, you will likely be called upon to do this for others as well.

To give up the comfort of the false belief that the enemy could never personally attack you is the first step in preparing for your call to engage in the warfare and to win.

In addition to overcoming obvious attacks, you may soon not have access to doctors and hospitals, psychologists and counselors. Much of their work is another form of enemy attack and should already be done by the church, but soon there may be no other option. It will either be handled by Christians or it will go undone. Are you prepared for this? Start practicing now!
